Monthly Archives: November 2011

This month's book is All They Need, Nov11 1742, by Sarah Mayberry. Yes, it's another romance novel but I like to read the fluff every once and awhile too. Although the storyline isn't all fluffy and lighthearted.

It takes place in Australia, during the winter months, but I don't feel bad for the characters because they can still wear shorts during the day. Especially when I look out of my window and see snow on the roof tops.

The storyline involves one of the main characters, Flynn Randall, who has a parent who is diagnosed with alzheimer's. Flynn is an only child and having to take over the family business, much earlier than anticipated.

The other main character, Melanie Porter, left an abusive marriage and is dealing with the emotional aftermath of that relationship. She's starting a new life and romance is not a part of it.

The result is of course the two of them coming together and realizing that they can depend on each other through both of their hard times.

The first snow, that stayed, in my neck of the woods.

I personally could do without the juicy sex scenes. I find myself skipping over them. I get what's going on, the description isn't necessary. The storyline in All They Need is pretty good on it's own. But I guess that's what sells in this genre of writing.

I give All They Need 3.5 out of 5.

Till next time,

This is pitiful, and not worthy of the title Christmas Tree, MOO!

One month until Christmas. Are you ready? Know what your going to cook? Know where your going to go? Have you bought all your gifts or are you waiting until the last week or even the last day?

Deciding on the tree is a big one. We have only had a mini table top tree for the last several years, after my parents decided to give away our standard size tree. I have no idea why, because at that point my sister and I were still coming home every year. We were the ones to decorate the tree and pack it away before we left again. We never did get a good explanation for that one.

So this year it's between an 6 ft artificial tree that looks as real as possible or a real pine (not sure what kind) tree. Although I think it's going to be artificial because pine trees are poisonous to cats and I can't guard the tree from being attacked by Kai day and night. I'm still checking out of the stores to see who has the best variety and of course the best price. I'll update with a picture when the decision has been made.

How's your shopping, getting ready for Christmas or are you not bothering will the whole celebration?
