The Paralympics start today. After the other Olympics I was tired & a little over it. The break was good though, and I’m ready to start again. Over 4000 athletes are participating from 166 countries. Opening ceremonies start at 3:30pm EST or 20:30 BST, although the re-broadcast will not be until 9pm EST, here in Canada. Check your local listings for viewing times in your area.
I’m looking forward to seeing Canada’s Michelle Stilwell. She’s already a 3-time Paralympic gold medallist and world-record holder. She’ll be Wheelchair Racing, in the 200-metre event on Sept. 1 and the 100-metre event on Sept. 5. Michelle also happens to follow a raw food/vegan diet. Pretty awesome considering the hard training that she does.
I’m also looking forward to seeing South Africa’s, Oscar Pistorius run the Men’s 100m T44 final (6 September). That is going to be good!
Online you can listen to the Paralympics and various stories of the athletes on BBC Radio 5 live. Or check the live stream schedule provided by, www.paralympic.org.

The official site for the International Paralympic Committee.
Good luck to all the athletes! I’ll be tuned in from Wednesday, August 29th to Sunday, September 9th, 2012.
Are you looking forward to seeing any event or a particular athlete at the Paralympics?
The washing machine repair guy is coming this morning, so our household will be catching up on laundry for the next 2 days. Basement, now washing machine, it never seems to end. Okay in my life it’s course work, then editing my short story. Another long day, but it’ll be worth it in the end. I only see good and positive things for myself. Things will continue to fall into place, as long as I keep up the hard work. That’s my latest mantra.

Kailympics @ it’s finest.
Till next time,
Nadia
About Nadia
A 30-something year old female, living in South-Western, Ontario, Canada, trying to get along in the world we live in.
They say to write about your passion(s) in life. What motivates you. What makes you happy before you even open your eyes in the morning.
I think there should be more leaders in the world and less followers. I am a passionate and stubborn person who tends to disagree with the norm.
More people should follow their passion or their heart. But easier said than done.
I am a passionate animal lover especially when it comes to my cat Kai.
I love writing and know this is one of the things that I am meant to do.
I love reading, from biographies, the supernatural, mysteries, to yes I’ll admit it in public, romance novels.
I’m a crocheter/knitter who doesn’t like to follow patterns. Freestyle is the name of my game.
When it comes to most things concerning the products I use and ingest I try to stay as natural as possible. I do follow the 80/20 rule. 20% of the time I can’t be bothered to try or I just want to have a piece of pepperoni pizza.
Basically anything that interests me or makes my brain hum. I’m always open to suggestions, so if there’s a topic that you would like me to talk about, let me know.
Even though blogging isn’t new or rare, for me it is. I’m hoping that blogging will help to open up many new pathways for me. Come and join me on my new adventure.
