I love long weekends. Nothing really has to get done because not very many places are open. I guess that kind of defeats the purpose of us (Canadians) having Labour Day (Monday, September 3rd). Oh well, I labour all week & most weekends, so I’m not feeling guilty.
It’s going to be a hot one. Going up to 33°C with a humidex of around 39°C, in my part of Canada and many parts of the world. Boo! My nice window breeze that I’ve been enjoying is turning hot! Just when I thought Fall was coming early. Too good to be true, I guess. I’m still going to try and BBQ at least once this weekend, despite the heat.
The Paralympics is pretty good so far. It’s interesting to see them on the internet. I’ve been watching the live stream through YouTube on the ParalympicSportTV channel. Even if I do miss something in live action, I can watch the replay when I want to instead of waiting to hear the results on the local news station, in the late evening. It does suck that the major news outlets in Canada & the US are not broadcasting (at least none that I know of) the Paralmpics live or even time-delayed, like they did with the Olympics. I guess the Paralympics aren’t good or worthy enough for their broadcasting time or dollars. If you get Channel 4 (UK) through your cable, you may be able to see some live events. I could say more but I don’t feel like ranting because I already have a headache that won’t quit.
Are you doing anything for the long weekend or is it a relaxing only zone?

About Nadia
A 30-something year old female, living in South-Western, Ontario, Canada, trying to get along in the world we live in.
They say to write about your passion(s) in life. What motivates you. What makes you happy before you even open your eyes in the morning.
I think there should be more leaders in the world and less followers. I am a passionate and stubborn person who tends to disagree with the norm.
More people should follow their passion or their heart. But easier said than done.
I am a passionate animal lover especially when it comes to my cat Kai.
I love writing and know this is one of the things that I am meant to do.
I love reading, from biographies, the supernatural, mysteries, to yes I’ll admit it in public, romance novels.
I’m a crocheter/knitter who doesn’t like to follow patterns. Freestyle is the name of my game.
When it comes to most things concerning the products I use and ingest I try to stay as natural as possible. I do follow the 80/20 rule. 20% of the time I can’t be bothered to try or I just want to have a piece of pepperoni pizza.
Basically anything that interests me or makes my brain hum. I’m always open to suggestions, so if there’s a topic that you would like me to talk about, let me know.
Even though blogging isn’t new or rare, for me it is. I’m hoping that blogging will help to open up many new pathways for me. Come and join me on my new adventure.

What a lovely photo. I haven’t seen any of the paraolympics. I will have to look it up online. My hubby is in a play tonight, so I will be going to support him. He does recreations of old radio shows. It will be fun. Dinner afterwards with the cast. I will be spending the rest of the time home relaxing and bbqing etc… I am finding that most people here don’t even observe the parades or anything anymore like they used to when I was a kid..
Thank you. Last year we had so many more butterflies. Dozens upon dozens throughout the day. This year, I’ve only seen a few, fluttering around.
I love old radio shows, that sounds like a fun night out!
It’s true about people being out & about. Compared to when I was growing up, people rarely seem to have family outings. I go to some city events and sometimes it’s void of families(kids).
Enjoy your weekend!
What a beautiful picture! I am not watching the Paralympics, but I didn’t really watch the Olympics either. I think I am more of a winter Olympics kind of gal.
Here in BC we have had lovely weather for the long weekend. It has been in the mid 70s, which is a welcome relief from the high 30s we had for most of August. The feel of fall is definitely in the air. I hope you enjoy the remainder of your weekend, and manage to get in that BBQ!
Thank you! I heard that BC is finally getting nice, mild weather. You guys are lucky, I’ll get there some day! As for the BBQ, it might not happen. I have no desire to scrub a grill today. But I did make a small batch of coconut cupcakes for later today. So I’m looking forward to that. Enjoy the rest of your Monday!
