Spicy Tofu & Rice Cake – Simple & Quick Recipe

Spicy Tofu & Rice Cake – Simple & Quick Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp cooking oil or leave out
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup rice cakes cylinder or disks
  • 1/2 package of firm tofu, cut into strips
  • 2-3 large mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tsp or more to your taste of hot pepper paste (Gochujang)
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • drizzle of sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet on medium-high heat.
  2. Add oil.
  3. Add rice cakes. Lightly brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Add tofu & mushrooms. Stirring for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add hot water.
  6. Add hot pepper paste (Gochujang). Mix until dissolved.
  7. Stir for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Add green onions. Leave back a few for garnish.
  9. Turn off heat. Add a drizzle of sesame oil.
  10. Place in bowl, top with remaining green onions & enjoy!

Notes

Use what ever vegetables you have on hand/like.

Use frozen or fresh vegetables. Remember frozen will add a few minutes onto the cooking time.

If you prefer to not use tofu, add in more vegetables. The hot pepper paste (Gochujang) is the magic in this recipe!

If you prefer to not use rice cakes, add more tofu.

If you prefer no tofu or rice cakes add all vegetables.
