Episode #67 – “Exhausted But Alive”

Show Notes

Welcome to Episode 67 of My Views, Extended.

I'm your host, Nadia.

-How are you this week?

Let me know in the comment section.

I’m doing…okay.

My skin is an absolute disaster.

It hasn’t broken out this bad, in months.

It’s been a few weeks and the breakouts are not subsiding at all.

Too bad it couldn’t have broken out like this when I went to see the dermatologist a while back.

Of course, it was clear and looking great.

Adult acne sucks.

Why couldn’t I have had it as a teenager?

It’s getting so bad that I’m starting to feel very self-conscious and feel like all eyes are on me.

Normally I don’t care.

If someone doesn’t like it, look away but I’ve found myself avoiding being near people if I don’t go have to.

My diet is the same, I think.

My water intake is the same.

I haven’t used any new skin care products.

My stress levels are the same.

Not great but I am a work in progress.

Who knows, I hope that it gets better.

I’ve been using oatmeal masks and tea oil, which seem to help a little.

It’s amazing how your skin can affect how you interact with the world if you let it.

-I’m going to add my own cleaned up personal notes to the Closed Captioning page on my blog and to the video portion of the podcast.

It’s not perfect but that is what I’m able to do as of today.

I feel bad for not including full CCM but I’m a one woman show and it’s the best that I can do for the time being.

By the end of the year, I will have the CC issue sorted out for on very and all.

-No Netflix & do nothing this past Sunday.

Which I was fine with.

I did listen to a lot of horror narration YouTube.

There are a few favourites that I had a chance to catch up on.

Dark Waters.

He shares some of his own stories of the supernatural, along with other people’s stories of their encounters.

He’s a great narrator and uses great sound effects to really bring the stories to life.

Darkness radio on iTunes And a few other places.

They recently moved to digital radio / Podcasting.

Dave & Tim.

The Grimm Reader & Let’s Read to name a few.

I’m pretty sure I gained my love of horror narration, ghost stories etc. from my mom.

When I was very small she used to listen to a late-night radio ghost story show.

And it would freak my sister and I out.

But it was her bedroom, so she said if we didn’t want to hear it, we could sleep in our own rooms.

As an adult, I get.

As a kid, how mean.

Now that I’ve started to listen to it, these images are in my mind.

Every shadow is something horrible.

So why on earth would I want to sleep in my own dark bedroom?

Do you listen to horror narration on YouTube or on iTunes?

Working on setting up a photograph print sale section to my website.

I was going to set up a separate site but really, I don’t have time for that. Lush it will give me an opportunity to see if this added venture will be successful.

I have a whole host of pictures that I haven’t posted anywhere.

My best.

That I’m saving for my book and for sale of my prints.

I don’t know if I’m going to go through a company where they receive a percentage or if I’m going to do it on my own.

But there it’s out there, so now I have to see it through.

I don’t know how soon this will be but it will be soon.

Most will be the original raw files, while some will have an artistic twist to the original file.

That will have to do for filling that part of my artist cravings.

I haven’t painted or sketched in a few years but I really want to get back into that.

Quote or Saying of the Week.

Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence. Helen Keller

Optimism, hope and confidence is what gets me through my day & obviously hard work.

Those 4 things are some of the many things that

What I’m Grateful For this past week.

That I realised that I need a break.

I don’t know how or when that’s going to happen but I need it.

I’m not at the burnout point but if I’m not careful I will burnout.

Recovering from that is something that I don’t have time for so I need to get a move on finding a way to have an inexpensive break.

I’ll take 2-3 days at this point.

Now don’t get me wrong I’m not feeling this way because I’m not loving what I’m doing.

It’s because I’m doing so much and doing everything myself.

And yes, I’m working on that in 2017.

I should just pack a picnic & my camera and make a morning or afternoon of it.

Being in nature, not the scalding summer heat but at this time of year would be great.

What are you grateful for this week or today?

What do you do to keep from burning out?

Pare down your schedule.

Delegate tasks so your workload is lighter?

Are you able to get away for a few days or a night?

Or are you still trying to figure out how you can work in some me time, between family, work responsibilities & finances?

I can understand about the finances.

Vacation or rent.

Rent will always win for me.

And this past Friday was Kai the cats 8th birthday.

I’m am grateful that she’s alive, healthy and rude as ever.

I have a short blog post and video of her to commemorate her 8 years on this earth.

Hopefully, I’ll get her to 20, healthy cat years, whatever that means in human years.

The crypt keeper?
