The Christmas tree is finally up & I love it. It's a mix & match of old and new but that's the way I like it. It's a new tree, and I'm not happy with the gaps, but it will do for this year. I could always add more ribbon or ornaments. Who knows. When I do get into my forever home, I can see myself getting another tree or 2, with themes for all of them. I love the decorations and would love to keep them up all year long! Maybe just change the decorations, to match the seasons.
Today is just another hustle & grind day for me. Fighting with Adobe Audition, is included. Don't get me wrong, I love learning about it and I know it will get easier with time, but some days (and nights) I feel like I'm back and school and fighting against myself. The podcast with sound like I want it to, eventually. Please bear with me in my learning curve. In year, you or I will not believe the difference, for the better! I hope everyone is having a great week!
The Christmas tree is finally up! Sort of. I'm still working on decorations but for the first time I'm not in a hurry to have it done, all at once. Pictures will come when it's finished. Although it may be on another social media platform.
Tip for keeping your cat/dog out of your tree. I don't know if this will work with real trees, but give it a try anyway. Get out the (or buy, if you want to try it) essential oils that you think your cat will not like. I pulled out 5 scents. I let her sniff them all. Whichever one(s) she recoiled from, that was the weapon. I shook a few drops around the base of my tree and a few drops in the middle of the tree. I used a mix of Cedarwood, Tea Tree oil & the Green Tea & Lemon Fragrance (from the Body Shop). So far, so good.
You can also add a few drops on the underside of the tree skirt if you don't want to randomly sprinkle the oils on the tree. I say the underside of the tree skirt, in case your pets or children lie underneath the tree. The undiluted oils can be an irritant, with direct skin contact. Depending on how long you have your tree up for, you may need to reapply in another week. But if it keeps them off of the tree, why not? It's better than trying to aim the water bottle spray, around an electrical outlet (please don't do that!). Or to wake up in the morning and see your decorations destroyed or the tree toppled over. Also make sure that you and your family can tolerate the smell, because it will be prevalent, everytime you walk into the room. Hopefully this helps someone, who also can't have nice things because of their feline/canine friend. 😉
If you are decorating for the holidays, how's it going for you? I hope everyone has a great Friday & weekend!
