~Its November, the time when the official Christmas countdown begins? I feel that it is, especially now that Halloween is over, whether we are ready or not. Time to dig up the Christmas tree from storage. Well, hopefully by Monday. I'll see how ambitious I feel. When do you start putting up Christmas decorations? In November or closer to the end of December?

Snow On The Ground
Woke up to snow this morning in the Metro Vancouver area. Not quite this much but snow nonetheless.

~It's Sandwich Day. Sandwichs are a great alternative to a meat & potatoes meal on a plate. Especially if your not at home, are running out of time or just because if they are made right, are delicious!

What makes a great sandwich in my opinion:

  • The bread, of course. It needs to be fresh. Some people like soft buns or bread. Others like a harder, crusty bun or bread. It depends on the type of sandwich that I'm eating. Not too crusty though, I don't want the roof of my mouth to get torn up. I know I can't be the only one.
  • Fillings. If they are cold they need to stay cold. Same for hot.
  • Condiments. Mayo, ketchup, mustard, pepper. Not always at once, of course. I'm not a fan of relish at all unless it's in tartar sauce. My pickles need to be dill & garlicky, not sweet.
  • Cheese. I love cheese but it needs to be lactose-free or I need a Lactaid tablet. Grilled cheese is the ultimate hot sandwich, in my opinion. A burger, sandwich or wrap is not the same without cheese. I can get by without mayo or pickles but if I don't have cheese, I'll pass.
