Oven Roasted Sweet Potato (White Flesh Variety)

Oven Roasted Sweet Potato (White Flesh Variety)


  • 1 large yellow flesh sweet potato, washed & peeled or not
  • 1-2 tbsp of grapeseed/coconut/vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp onion granules/powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • salt & pepper to taste


  1. Pre-heat the oven to 425°F/220°C.
  2. Spread oil on a prepared baking sheet & set it aside.
  3. Cut your sweet potato into equal pieces. About 1.5 inches.
  4. In a bowl or on the same baking sheet, add all of the spices & mix, making sure that the sweet potato pieces are covered well.
  5. Bake for about 35 minutes, or until tender and browned. Times may vary by your oven.
  6. Halfway through the baking flip the sweet potato pieces.
  7. If the sweet potatoes are browned before they are tender, cover the baking tray with a piece of foil or parchment paper, until they are done.
  8. Serve hot or warm.


If you refrigerate the cooked sweet potatoes reheat them in the oven for best results. Preheat the oven to 350°F/177°C and heat for 10-12 minutes.
