  • This has been another interesting week. Organising my life, again. Things are not happening as I would like them to. When I have some answers, I'll share as much as I can. I really need this weekend to decompress, think, talk things over. I would have thought my life would have been in a different place by now, but that's not how it's going. I used to have a five year plan. That has not come & it has passed a couple of times over. Frustration with myself, life, everything is at the maximum. And this is why I don't get excited about possible change until, it's in progression. Is that vague enough for everyone?
  • On a positive note (Always trying to find it, no matter how weak.) the humidity is gone, so I can actually enjoy some time out this weekend. The heat is coming back but hopefully Humidity will pass on Heat's weekly vacation.
  • Back Update: (Read about it here.) Almost back to normal. I'm back to doing most of the activity that I did before the injury. No running or hopping, not that I ran in recent years. Standing or walking for more then 20 minutes or so brings back pain, but for the most part, I'm back to "normal" for me. Have a great weekend & stay safe!

  • Today is World Blood Donor Day. Saving lives and/or improving the lives of others, is an awesome gift, that most of us can give. Even if it's once a year, instead of several times a year. Do what you can if this is your way to give back.
  • I'll be honest and let you know that I haven't donated blood for several years because the last 3 times that I tried, my hemoglobin count was low. Veins were good, I was well hydrated. I made sure that I had eaten iron-rich foods, an hour or so before I was scheduled to donate. Advice given to me by the nurses and intake personnel. I haven't had a problem before that, so who knows. I just haven't felt like waiting around for 1.5 hours just to find out that I couldn't give blood. I'll go back sometime though.

-Donating blood isn't as bad as one might expect. It's pretty quick and painless. As long as you have decent veins. So you don't have to worry about veins collapsing.

-Your hydrated beforehand. The blood flows more quickly.

-Of course the nurse is efficient with the placement of the needle. If you feel any pain or discomfort, which you shouldn't, let them know. They can adjust the needle to make it a more comfortable experience. If it's not pleasant many of us will not go back.

-It's an an excuse to not do any heavy lifting at home for the rest of the day. Come on, I'm not the only one who's done this. "I gave blood today, so I have to rest tonight."

-And lastly, the water, cookies, or juice that is offered afterwards. I felt like I was in nursery school again at snack time.

  • I saw the cutest baby Robin this morning. Just sitting on the railing, for a good 10 OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAminutes. I think it was freshly kicked out of the nest. It still had a few fuzz fluffs, on top of it's head and a lot of spots remaining. No parents were in sight. I think it was bewildered and probably hoping that someone would bring it breakfast. I had to break the news to the poor thing, in between the yawns and sleepy eyes. "If you want to eat, you better put your ear to the ground and start picking. Or you will starve. The days of room service are over." Poor thing. Just looked lost. A few fuzzy pics below, annoying to me, I don't think I was awake enough to get my focus on point. But enjoy!

  • Loving this June weather. Not too hot, with nice winds, most days. It is slowing down my pot garden growth, but last years growth was slow as well. Although, according to this mornings forecast the hot weather will be rolling in this weekend. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. How's the weather where you live?

Have a great Friday/weekend!
